In July 1992 a beautiful young mother, Rachel Nickell, was stabbed to death in front of her toddler son, Alex, on Wimbledon Common.

It was a story that truly shocked the nation. Now aged 27, Alex recalls the events of that tragic day, his memories of his mother, his close but sometimes stormy relationship with his father, and his journey to adulthood. Powerful and deeply moving Alex’s story is also surprisingly uplifting.
