Britain’s premier mountaineer has undertaken 19 Himalayan expeditions including four to Everest, and has made many first ascents. In his insightful autobiography he looks back at his many triumphs in the climbing world and discusses what it takes to conquer fear and survive in some of the most inhospitable places in the world. He also gives a poignant account of his relationship with first wife, Wendy, her brave battle with motor neurone disease, and how he overcame grief, and found love again, after her passing.
