Award-winning wildlife cameraman Gavin Thurston, has worked on 17 of Sir David Attenborough’s series, including Blue Planet II and Planet Earth II.

During his 30 year career he has been charged by elephants, hunted by lions, and set the world record for the deepest dive in Antarctica. He’s even been slapped on the back by a silverback gorilla. From the peaks of the Himalayas to the Congo forests, he explains what it takes to track down, and film, the animal kingdom’s finest.

‘I have worked with Gavin on and off for over 30 years. He is, as his diary entries reveal, a most knowledgeable and perceptive naturalist.’
— Sir David Attenborough
