James Holland: Normandy ’44 – D-Day and the Battle for France

Wed 9 Oct
20:00 - 21:00
The Electric Theatre

In the 75th anniversary year of the D-Day landings, renowned World War II historian James Holland presents a new perspective on the campaign, challenging much of what we think we know about the landings and the 76 days of fighting in Normandy that followed.

Drawing on previously unseen archives and testimonies Holland considers the effectiveness of the leaders, the operational mechanics, and the role of air and sea power, to arrive at some radically different conclusions.
