Enjoy a delicious two-course lunch in the entertaining company of authors, Judith Mackrell and Stanley Johnson

The Unfinished Palazzo: Life, Love and Art in Venice, by Judith Mackrell has been summed up as a story of ‘sex, scandal, and money set in an 18th century palace’.  It tells the story of three passionate and wonderfully unconventional women – Luisa Casati, Doris Castlerosse and Peggy Guggenheim – and the Venetian palazzo they each, in turn, called home.

With tales of lavish parties, outrageous outfits and a star-studded cast, this is a delightful slice of 20th century history. Judith Mackrell is Dance Critic for the Guardian and author of several non-fiction books including Mrs John Maynard Keynes and Flappers.

The best gallimaufry of gossip and scandal I have read in years
— The Sunday Times

Few people are better placed to write an of-the-moment satirical thriller than former MEP, environmental campaigner, and author, Stanley Johnson.

His latest novel, KOMPЯOMAT, follows the fortunes of a plethora of politicians including a British Prime Minister fighting a referendum he thought he couldn’t lose, and a brash showman running for US President.

Throw into the mix a Russian President planning to destabilise the West and you have a hugely entertaining alternative account of recent events. He maintains that any resemblance to real-life politicians is entirely coincidental!

If you are an avid reader of fiction what better way to spend lunch or your lunch break than in the company of authors and professionals from the world of publishing.

Early booking is essential for this event as it is always a sell out!

Stanley... brings the same passionate enthusiasm to whatever he does, scattering goodwill and friendship as he goes
