Marketing & Audience Development Manager Role

Guildford Book Festival is a registered Charity, delivering over 70 events for adults, children and families annually. To ensure the future of the Festival, we need to increase ticket sales.

                      Our aim is larger and more diverse audiences

We need an experienced professional to work with Alex Andrews, Festival Director and the Board of Trustees, to implement the Guildford Book Festival (GBF) Marketing Plan for 2025. Essential experience & skills include:

  • Marketing experience

  • Able to use content creation tools - Canva and CapCut

  • Able to use platforms such as Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Squarespace, MetaBusiness and Google Forms

  • Effective IT, organisational and admin skills to meet timelines

  • Strong knowledge of social media tools and best practice

  • Experience of running paid-for advertising online

This role will suit a positive, proactive and flexible individual who is both creative and solution-focussed with excellent attention to detail.

Someone who is passionate about marketing and the arts, who enjoys working across multiple projects and stakeholders.


Expected Outcomes:

Tangible progress towards larger and more diverse audiences

Increased subscriptions to GBF’s mailing list (by competitions/collaborations)

An agreed branding toolkit for GBF

GBF website updated www.guildfordbookfestival.co.uk

Effective copy and content for social media posts

Festival marketing emails using Mailchimp

Effective management of photography and filming at Festival events

Event presentations and chair/speaker notes produced/ supported.

We Offer:

Fee: £3,000 (20 days) paid by monthly invoice. Must be responsible for own tax and National Insurance.

Location and Key Dates:

This is a flexible, remote working opportunity

3 – 4 days per month from June and more during Festival (September and October)

Further days may be possible, subject to funding.
